Wipro Engineering Acquires Majority Stake in France’s Lauak

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), a subsidiary of Wipro, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in France‑based Lauak Group—a family‑owned aerospace parts manufacturer since 1975. The deal, announced at the Paris Air Show, will form a new entity named Wipro Lauak, signalling a major expansion of Wipro’s industrial footprint into Europe.

Lauak specialises in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, piping, and assembly, supplying Tier1 components for both structural and engine parts to leading global aerospace firms. The acquisition will merge Lauak’s five decades of aerospace engineering experience with Wipro’s strong global manufacturing capabilities to create a full-spectrum aerospace solutions provider.

Under the agreement, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and the Charritton family—the founders of Lauak—will jointly establish a board of directors for Wipro Lauak. Current Lauak CEO Mikel Charritton will continue in his leadership role to ensure operational stability and continuity throughout the transition.

Pratik Kumar, CEO of WIN and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises, described the transaction as a milestone for Wipro Aerospace. He added that the combined capabilities would provide customers with enhanced value, increased agility, and advanced innovation.

Wipro Lauak will strengthen Wipro’s presence in the European aerospace market and help support local employment and industrial autonomy in France. The acquisition is subject to customary approvals and is expected to complete in the coming months.
