Noida International Airport has partnered with Anlon Technology Solutions to deploy India’s first indigenously developed Runway Rubber Removal Machine (RRM), known as the Cleanjet RRM. The machine is a key addition to the airport’s airside maintenance infrastructure and underlines its commitment to safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.
Constructed on the robust Eicher Pro 6028 chassis and powered by a Bharat Stage VI-compliant diesel engine, the Cleanjet RRM uses ultra-high-pressure water jets to remove rubber deposits, paint markings, and oil spills from runways, taxiways, and aprons. The process is entirely chemical-free, ensuring no environmental harm or pavement damage, while maintaining a skid-free surface for aircraft operations.
The machine includes an auxiliary CAT C9.3B engine and a powerful Hammelmann high-pressure pump that enables precise, damage-free cleaning. With a cleaning capacity of 800 to 1,100 square metres per hour and 8,000-litre tanks for both water and debris, it is capable of operating continuously for over four hours—minimising disruption during critical maintenance windows.
One of the standout features is its intelligent built-in suction system, which collects wastewater, rubber residue, oil, and paint directly at the nozzle. This allows the runway to remain dry and immediately operational post-cleaning, eliminating the need for additional follow-up work.
The RRM is equipped with multiple cameras and a 12-inch display that offers real-time monitoring and records operational data for up to 30 days, enhancing transparency and safety compliance. Additionally, its modular design allows the cleaning head to be raised, lowered, or detached with ease, enabling fast deployment or emergency evacuation without dismantling.
Noida International Airport stated that this deployment marks a significant step in integrating advanced, home-grown technology into airport operations. It also aligns with broader sustainability goals, promoting efficiency without compromising on environmental responsibility.
