Vizag Station to get a facelift worth Rs 3.93 bn

As the city shortly becomes the headquarters of the new South Coastal Railway Zone, the ambitious Station Redevelopment Programme is scheduled to give Visakhapatnam Railway Station a facelift.

For a project that will cost Rs 3.93 billion, the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has issued a request for proposals.

Although the deadline for bid submission is August 12, the reconstruction project is expected to be finished in 36 months. To build top-notch passenger facilities, the project will be executed using the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model.

A statutory organisation within the Ministry of Railways, the RLDA is responsible for the development of railroad land for commercial purposes. Modern skywalks that enable seamless passenger movement will make the refurbished station widely accessible.
