Ambuja Cements begins trial run at Marwar Cement plant in Rajasthan

Ambuja Cements Limited began trial runs at its greenfield integrated plant (Marwar Cement Works) in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan.

Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, virtually inaugurated the trial runs at the new greenfield integrated plant.

In the regulatory filing, the firm said that it has developed over an investment of Rs 2,350 crore. This greenfield integrated plant improves Ambuja鈥檚 clinker capacity by 3 MTPA and helps in enhancing cement sales by 5 MTPA, thereby adding to the long term goal of capacity expansion.

The plant has a waste heat recovery system (WHRS) that transforms waste heat obtained during the production process into energy.

Neeraj Akhoury, MD and CEO, Ambuja Cements Ltd, told the media that the company鈥檚 effort shall always be to become a strong partner and 鈥楤uilders of Progress鈥� for India.

Marwar Cement Works is the third plant of Holcim Group in Rajasthan, after Lakheri and Rabriyawas. Additionally, it is the second integrated plant of Ambuja in Rajasthan and 6th in the nation.
