State demands re-gasified LNG

The Andhra Pradesh government has requested the centre to direct the Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) and Reliance Industries to supply 2.5 mmscmd re-gasified liquid natural gas (RLNG) to independent power producers in the state.

The government also requested the Union Minister to direct the officials to permit swapping of the RLNG from the Reliance D-6 well. The supply of RLNG was essential for the state to generate an additional 500 MW of power needed for providing seven hours' power besides stabilising supply to the domestic and industrial sectors.
