Fuel Consumption Rises 2.6% to 19.99 Mn Metric Tonnes in June: Oil Ministry

According to the latest data released by the Oil Ministry, fuel consumption in India rose by 2.6% in June, totaling 19.99 million metric tonnes. This uptick reflects a gradual recovery in economic activities and transportation demand following easing COVID-19 restrictions across the country. The rise in fuel consumption is primarily attributed to higher demand for petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). Aviation fuel consumption also rebounded as domestic travel resumed with improved passenger traffic.
