Adani Group plans Rs 60k cr green energy investment in AP

Andhra Pradesh government fixed a big deal with Adani Group agreeing to invest Rs Rs 60,000 crore in green energy plants in the state.

The company has decided to set up a 10,000 MW solar power project and a 3,700 MW pumped hydro-solar project at around Rs 60,000 crore in these projects. The investment expects to generate about 10,000 employment opportunities.

The Adani Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani. Special chief secretary Karikal Valaven for the state government and Ashish Raj Vamsee from Adani Green Energy signed the MoU.

Minister of Industries, Gudivada Amarnath, said that it is a big initiative toward making AP a hub of green energy. The CM’s approach and presentation have made the company take the final call on this big project within 24 hours.

He said that this investment from Adani Group would be a game-changer for the state to attract more big-ticket projects.

Recently, CM laid the foundation stone for the world’s largest 5,230 MW integrated renewable energy storage power plant to generate power from hydel, wind and solar sources in the Kurnool district.
