NTPC Vidhyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited bids to build grid-connected solar projects of 3.5 MW (AC) with net metering facilities at four airports in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
The deadline for submitting online bids is February 8, 2022. The following day, bids will be opened.
The design, engineering, production, supply, packaging, forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, erection, testing, and commissioning of 3.5 MW (AC) of grid-connected solar projects at the four airports are all included in the scope of work. The chosen bidder must additionally provide three years of complete operation and maintenance services after commissioning these projects.
The rooftop solar systems will be built at Delhi's Safdurjung Airport of 2 MW, Rajasthan's Udaipur Airport of 500 kW, and Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur and Khajuraho Airports of 500 kW each.
The bidder must submit a quote for the whole 3.5 MW package, which includes all four airports. Any bid that is less than 3.5 MW will be rejected.
If the winning bidder has quoted a higher yearly generation than the threshold generation (G2), the bidder must produce security in the form of a bank guarantee.
NVVN invited consultants to submit bids in March 2021 to analyse the potential and feasibility of ground-mounted and rooftop solar at airports administered by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Airports Authority of India (AAI) and NVVN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in November 2020 to install solar power installations at its airports.
