Macrotech Renamed Lodha Developers After Trademark Row

Macrotech Developers Limited has officially changed its name to Lodha Developers Limited, effective 16 June 2025, following regulatory approval. The change comes two months after a trademark settlement between Abhishek Lodha and his younger brother Abhinandan Lodha, who owns the House of Abhinandan Lodha.

In a filing with stock exchanges, the company said: 鈥淧ursuant to Regulation 30 of the Listing Regulations and further to our intimation dated 2 June 2025, we wish to inform you that the Registrar of Companies, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has approved the change in name... from 鈥楳acrotech Developers Limited鈥 to 鈥楲odha Developers Limited鈥 with effect from 16 June 2025.鈥

Under the terms of the settlement, Macrotech Developers, the listed entity led by Abhishek Lodha, retains exclusive rights to the 'Lodha' and 'Lodha Group' brand names. Meanwhile, Abhinandan Lodha exclusively owns and operates under the 'House of Abhinandan Lodha' brand. Both parties clarified that there is no affiliation or connection between the two entities.

The resolution followed a legal dispute filed in January, when Abhishek Lodha approached the Bombay High Court seeking to restrict his brother鈥檚 use of the 鈥楲odha鈥 brand. Retired Supreme Court judge R V Raveendran was appointed as mediator, and the brothers finalised a mutually agreed solution in April.

In May, as part of the separation, Abhinandan Lodha rebranded his holding company from Lodha Ventures to Abhinandan Ventures, reinforcing the distinct identity of his business interests.

The rebranding to Lodha Developers Limited marks a return to the group's well-recognised real estate identity, reinforcing its legacy in the Indian property sector.
