SJVN, Solarworld Energy Solutions enter pact for 75 MW solar project

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has signed a deal with Solarworld Energy Solutions Private Limited for developing a 75 MW solar power project for Rs 313.59 crore at Parasan Solar Park, Uttar Pradesh.

SJVN said that it has entered into a contract with Solarworld Energy Solutions Private Limited for a 75 MW solar project based on engineering procurement construction (EPC) for three years.

Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN, Nand Lal Sharma, was present while signing the contract agreement. The solar power contract was signed by the General Manager of SJVN, S K Sood and Director of Solarworld, Kartik Teltia.

Sharma said that the EPC cost of the project is Rs 313.59 crore, and it has been awarded to Solarworld Energy Solutions. The project is to be commissioned by August 2022.

He added that SJVN had secured it through competitive bidding by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) at a tariff of Rs 2.68 per unit for 25 years.

The solar project is expected to generate 168.34 million units of energy yearly with a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of over 25%.

Parasan Solar Park is situated at Kalpi near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. With this solar project, SJVN has 1,445 MW of solar projects under execution.

Sharma said that the solar projects are scheduled to be commissioned by FY23-24.
