Atlas Copco´s LT Rammer Series wins big

The prestigious international iF Product Design Award 2015 has been conferred upon the Atlas Copco LT 6005 Rammer series.
Atlas Copco is a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions. The Group serves customers with innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. The company, founded in 1873, based in Stockholm in Sweden has a global reach spanning more than 180 countries.

Atlas Copco Construction Tools is a division within Atlas Copco¦s Construction Technique business area. It develops, manufactures and markets hydraulic, pneumatic, and petrol-driven equipment for demolition, recycling, compaction, rock drilling and concrete applications For over 60 years, the iF Design Award has been recognised globally as a label of design excellence and identifying outstanding achievements in design.

The Jury´s favourite
One of the major enhanced feature of the new Atlas Copco LT Rammers is the slimmer design that facilitates handling close to walls, posts or in narrow trenches, which in turn refines the visibility considerably. In order to get full visibility of the foot, the operator needs to lean in 50 per cent lesser to the side. The user grip area has also been increased, by 300 per cent for better control. Its improved safety, reduced weight, high compaction efficiency and ergonomics are some of the other user-friendly features that the jury found appealing.

Building a winner
´Thorough research and a tight cooperation between R&D and our industrial design team has been success factors in the development of the new LT Rammers. With a strong user focus, we managed to increase the balance of the machine, making it extremely easy to handle.´ says Fredrik HSgglund, Manager Technical Development Light Compaction Equipment.

The modernised Atlas Copco LT Rammers are a result of intensive research and integrating customer input to create an improved efficient model to ensure consumer satisfaction. Its greater working capacity and durability are among the other improved features of this reformed and enhanced model series.

Additional benefits
Repair and improvements of trenches, ditches, backfills and foundations are some of the uses of this versatile compaction tool developed for intensive work on cohesive and granular soils.

The 50 kg and 60 kg weight class Rammers are powered by Honda engines and especially designed for compaction work in confined areas. They are easy to handle in every stage of operation while being reliable in all conditions and work equally well, regardless of when and how often they are used.

Selecting the best
Gurdeep Singh, Marketing Manager, Construction Tools Division at Atlas Copco India says ´The LT6005 is a current generation machine, which will give full value for money to customers in every possible way, from compaction efficiency, stability to easy serviceability and ease of operation.´

´Now a days in India also, Rammers are available for rent and the LT6005 is the best answer for this as the machine is equipped with optional hour meter and air filter indicators. Its sleek and award winning design gives operators better visibility while working and it is also extremely easy to transport. Powered by Honda Engine GXR120, which has been specially designed for these Atlas Copco Rammers, all together it is a very good solution for the customers´.

Atlas Copco believes that easy service is a high priority need of its customers. While receiving the iF Product Design Award was a great honour, the real satisfaction for the company is its ability to offer its Indian customers, a great product.
