Kerala for more waste-to-energy plants

Kerala is trying to take the waste-to-energy (WTE) approach to develop WTE plants across the state. But, it is reported that it still lacks a coherent waste management policy as instructed by the Centre. Meanwhile, KSIDC, the executing body for WTE plants has already invited request for proposal for a WTE project of a minimum of 5 MW capacity, related to integrated solid waste management, based on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis at Njaliparambu, Kozhikode. The execution of the project will be done under the PPP mode.
