NTPC to set up 100 MW solar projects in Gujarat

Public sector power utility NTPC is planning to set up two solar thermal units of 50 MW each at Kutch and Banaskantha districts in Gujarat at an investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

The company has chalked out plans to initially install a solar power generation capacity of 100 MW in the state, which may go up to 300 MW at a later stage.

Gujarat government has already approved NTPC's 50 MW solar thermal power unit. Both NTPC and Gujarat government will soon sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
