Adani Launches India's First Hydrogen Truck in Chhattisgarh

The Adani Group has deployed India鈥檚 first hydrogen-powered truck for coal transportation in Chhattisgarh, marking a major advancement in sustainable industrial logistics. The vehicle, designed to carry 40 tonnes across 200 kilometres, is being used between the Gare Pelma III Block and a power plant operated by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL).

Adani Enterprises, selected through a competitive process as the mine developer and operator, is leading this innovation in collaboration with domestic and global technology firms. The truck features three hydrogen tanks and smart systems to support efficient and low-emission operations.

The initiative is part of a joint effort between Adani Natural Resources (ANR) and Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL). ANR oversees mining, while ANIL manages green hydrogen, solar, wind, and battery technology. Hydrogen fuel cells used in the truck are internally sourced from ANIL, reinforcing the group鈥檚 integrated clean energy strategy.

This development aligns with national decarbonisation goals and aims to replace diesel vehicles across Adani鈥檚 logistics fleet. The project positions Adani at the forefront of India's green industrial transformation, supporting both environmental targets and dependable energy generation.
