Amara Raja Infra (ARIPL), a subsidiary of battery manufacturer Amara Raja, has won Solar Energy Corporation of India鈥檚 (SECI) auction to supply a balance of system (BoS) to set up a 300 MW grid-connected solar power project at Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh. Amara Raja won the work for a contract value of Rs 5.44 billion. The tender was floated in March 2024. The scope of work comprises designing, engineering, procuring, constructing, and commissioning the project. It also includes five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project. The contract excludes solar modules, which SECI will supply. The project must be completed within 18 months. The successful bidder will inspect all solar modules supplied by the SECI at the site. The contractor will furnish the necessary test certificates and guarantee certificates for material or equipment performance. The 300 MW project is part of the Central Public Sector Undertaking Scheme Phase II, which aims to build 12,000 MW of grid-connected solar projects across the country. The projects can avail of viability gap funding. In April 2024, ARIPL won a BoS supply contract for a 500 MW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh鈥檚 Kurnool district from renewable energy company Greenko. The project, spanning over 2,200 acres near Uyyalavada town, was ARIPL鈥檚 largest contracted solar capacity project to date. In the same year, the company, in collaboration with Premier Solar Powertech, a solar module manufacturer, secured a 100 MW solar project from Bangladesh鈥檚 Rural Power Company. The project, valued at $130 million, was to be located on 326 acres of land in Madarganj, Jamalpur District, Bangladesh, and marked ARIPL鈥檚 entry into the international solar market.
