Arunachal Pradesh to be a major gateway to South East Asia: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed the people of Arunachal Pradesh that the Central Government is working to make the state a vital gateway to South East Asia.The PM Modi said that modern infrastructure is being built in Arunachal Pradesh, considering its importance from the national security perspective.
The message was delivered through a video to the state's citizens on the 36th statehood day.
Despite the rough weather, more than 10,000 people filled the newly built Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium, the venue of the celebrations, immersed in lively colours, including huge security protection.
The PM said in the last seven years, unprecedented work has been completed to quicken the state's development. Extensive work on power and connectivity infrastructure is making life and business easy in the state.
He claimed that connecting every state capital in the Northeast, including Itanagar, has been their top priority.
Modern infrastructure is also under construction, considering Arunachal Pradesh's part from the national security point of view.
He praised the efforts of the citizens and said because of their measures, Arunachal Pradesh is one of the significant areas of biodiversity.
He also appreciated efforts of the Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in developing sectors like education, women empowerment, health, and self-help groups.
The prime minister also praised Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for constantly working towards the development of the state.
B.D Mishra, Governor Brig (Retd) Arunachal Pradesh said that the cultural heritage, education, health, careful utilisation of all the natural resources and development of infrastructure are pillars of the prosperity of the state.
The Chief Minister said that from January 20 month-long celebrations were held to mark 50 years of the naming of Arunachal Pradesh.
Khandu said that future goals would be realised via a holistic method, and stakeholders would be invited to collaborate with the government for the development of the state.
The chief minister also pointed out that since the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA), over 3,000 schools were established. However, the quality of education still did not improve much. He said that they would focus more on education quality.
The governor granted the 'Arunachal Ratna', the highest state honour award, to the Late KAA Raja, first Lieutenant Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. It was received by his eldest daughter Vijayalakshm.
To honour 50 years of the naming of Arunachal Pradesh, the governor also released a commemorative postal stamp.Former chief ministers and agency council members were also praised for their efforts and contributions.
