Attero, Omega Seiki forge green partnership for EV Battery Solutions

Attero, a trailblazer in the recycling of lithium-ion batteries and e-waste, and Omega Seiki (OSPL), a pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to embark on a groundbreaking collaboration. OSPL, a prominent player in the electric vehicle sector boasting over 10,000 deployed electric vehicles, aims to repurpose EV batteries for energy storage?a vision in harmony with Attero's proficiency in responsible lithium-ion battery recycling.

Committing to the recycling of over 100 megawatt-hours (MWh) of batteries in the next three to four years, Omega Seiki further plans to collaborate with Attero to deploy EV batteries totalling over 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh) within the next five years. This partnership underscores the shared commitment of both entities to ensure sustainable EV battery solutions and address the entire lifecycle of EV components.

In response to the escalating environmental challenges associated with the growing manufacturing and disposal of electric vehicle components, Attero's cutting-edge facility, renowned for its adept handling of E-Waste and Battery Waste, is set to scale up to 15,000 metric tonnes by February 2024. As a global leader in sustainable e-waste management and lithium-ion battery recycling, Attero holds multiple patents.

Omega Seiki has converted all its plants into solar-powered green energy facilities, affirming its dedication to establishing sustainable practices. They not only ensure the recycling of all their waste but also actively encourage their suppliers to adopt sustainable approaches.
