Bharat Alt-Fuel Private Ltd (BAF) which mainly focuses on alternative fuel technology & e-mobility has announced its foray into new and renewable energy solutions.
The Company is establishing its manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with the primary focus on energy storage systems (ESS).
Bharat Alt-Fuel was established in December 2020. Since then, it has managed to make a strong base by ensuring product quality via high-technology, reliable procedure engineering and quality materials procurement.
BAF faced numerous obstacles during its startup journey. After a series of rounds with many investors, Audisankara Innovation & Incubation Centre (AIIC), Hyderabad funded BAF with an infusion of $3.5 mn, including a 20,000 sq m manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
Anusha Vanki, Principal Director at AIIC, told the media that an integrated strategy towards renewable energy generation and storage is the only solution towards a green future.
India would certainly reach its electric vehicle (EV) targets by 2030, but if EV powering still comes from the burning of coal (India generates over 60% electricity by coal) it would be a greater disaster.
Currently, BAF is developing business with international partners in the US, Taiwan & Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and is also planning to strengthen its presence in Asia and Africa.
The company is also signing power purchase agreements (PPA) in Cambodia & Tanzania for establishing solar plants of 150 MW.
Recently, BAF signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to build a self-sustained agro mill which includes an 800 KW solar plant near Nashik.
The project would help approximately 12,000 farmers when it is fully commissioned and this would be the first of its kind.
The firm is also operating on different projects like public surveillance systems and traffic signals that are self-dependent with Solar Power and ESS.
In the coming future, BAF would also focus on exploring many new-age battery chemistries and additional alternative fuels.
