Bhutan King, PM visit Adani's Khavda energy project site

Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, expressed his gratitude for the visit of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay to Adani's 30 GW Renewable Energy site at Khavda and Mundra Port in Gujarat. Adani shared photos with the King and PM of Bhutan, stating, "We are deeply inspired by Bhutan's vibrant spirit and steadfast commitment to eco-friendly initiatives. We are excited about contributing to collaboration with the Land of the Thunder Dragon for a sustainable and greener future."

Adani Green Energy Limited is developing the 30 GW renewable energy plant on barren land in Kutch, Gujarat, spanning 538 sq km, which, upon completion, will be the largest power plant on the planet. The project requires an investment of approximately Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Last week, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti also visited the mega renewable energy project site at Khavda and Mundra Port. India pledged ambitious goals at COP26 in 2021, including achieving 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, meeting half of all energy requirements from renewables, reducing emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, cutting emissions intensity of GDP by 45 percent, and reaching net-zero emissions by 2070.
