Bids Invited for 41 MW of solar projects at GETCO substations

For a total of 41 MW of grid-connected solar power projects at the substations of the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) in the Devbhumi Dwarka District (11 MW), Bhavnagar District (18 MW), and Morbi District, the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) has published three tenders (12MW).

For a period of five years, the winning bidder will be in charge of the project's operation and maintenance (O&M).

The deadline for submitting online bids is October 7, 2022. The day of the bid opening is October 13.

Each of the three tenders continues to be covered by the same performance bank guarantee. Within seven working days after receiving the letter of intent, the winning bidder must provide an amount equal to 5% of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract price.

Within 30 days of the start of the O&M period, the winning bidder for each tender must also provide an O&M bank guarantee equal to 5% of the EPC contract price.

Bidders ought to have designed. Grid-connected solar power projects that have a cumulative installed capacity of 20% or more of the total bid capacity, of which at least one plant must be 5% or more of the total bid capacity, must be supplied, erected, overseen, and commission. Prior to the opening of bids, the reference project shall have been in operation for at least six months.

11MW tender

The first tender has been issued to install and commission an 11 MW grid-connected solar power project in the Devbhumi Dwarka district of Gadhka.

The project is expected to cost Rs 440 million ($5.54 million). Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 4.4 million ($55,409).

Bidders' total turnover over the last three fiscal years should be Rs 308 million ($3.88 million). Their net worth should have increased during the previous fiscal year.

Upon commissioning of the project, the contractor should provide a warranty for the output of each solar module for at least 90% of its real rated capacity after the first ten years and 80% of its rated capacity after 25 years.

18MW tender

To develop and activate an 18 MW grid-connected solar power project near the GETCO substation at Maghlana in the Bhavnagar district, GSECL has issued another request for proposals.

The project will cost approximately Rs. 720 million ($9.07 million).

The earnest money deposit for bidders is Rs 7.2 million ($90,670).

The total revenue generated by the bidders during the previous three fiscal years should be at least Rs 504 million ($6.35 million). Their net worth should have increased over the previous fiscal year.

12MW tender

A 12 MW grid-connected solar power project surrounding the GETCO substation at Dhavana in the Morbi district is the subject of the third tender released by GSECL.

The project will likely cost $6.04 million, or Rs 480 million.

Earnest money deposits totaling Rs. 4.8 Million ($60,446) are required from bidders.

A minimum of Rs 336 million ($4.23 million) in total turnover for the last three fiscal years must have been achieved by the bidders. Their net worth should have increased over the previous fiscal year.

A 20 MW grid-connected solar power project near the GETCO substation in Itiya in the Bhavnagar district was out for bids last month by GSECL.

The Vasundhara substation of GETCO in the Morbi district will house a 14 MW grid-connected solar power plant that will be designed, engineered, supplied & procured, constructed, erected, tested, and commission.

Mercom's India solar tender tracker indicates that GSECL has so far released EPC tenders for 787.5 MW of solar power.
