Brightnight Commissions 115 MW Hybrid Renewable Projects

BrightNight, a global renewable energy producer, has commissioned the first phase of its 115 MW hybrid renewable power project, Optima Maharashtra, in Dharashiv, southern Maharashtra. This is one of the state鈥檚 first co-located wind-solar projects and marks BrightNight鈥檚 initial energy delivery to India鈥檚 power grid, advancing the country鈥檚 mission to decarbonize its energy sector.
Spanning approximately 14,000 acres, the project integrates advanced wind and solar technologies supported by BrightNight鈥檚 proprietary AI-enabled PowerAlpha庐 platform. The facility will generate dispatchable clean energy capable of powering about 230,000 homes annually while offsetting approximately 225,000 tons of carbon emissions.
Optima Maharashtra is a significant step toward Maharashtra鈥檚 goal of sourcing 40% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030. BrightNight鈥檚 entry into the Asia-Pacific region began with India, which has become a cornerstone of its global expansion. In 2023, Philippines-based ACEN Corporation committed $250 million to support BrightNight鈥檚 gigawatt-scale renewable power portfolio in India.
The company has already signed a power purchase agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and secured tenders from NTPC and NHPC for firm and dispatchable renewable energy supply.
BrightNight is preparing to begin construction on two large-scale hybrid projects in Rajasthan, which will combine wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems to meet peak power demands. The company is also developing projects in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan, aimed at providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions. Optima Maharashtra is expected to create around 300 jobs during its development phase and contribute to the regional renewable energy industry鈥檚 growth. BrightNight is also collaborating with local communities and stakeholders to ensure efficient resource utilization and long-term benefits for the region.
