The Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI), which is a subsidiary of Coal India, has issued an invitation for bids concerning the construction of a grid-connected solar project with a capacity of 6.25 MW. Additionally, the bid includes provisions for operating and maintaining the project for a period of five years.
The intended project is set to be established for Central Coalfields at different sites located in Kathara, situated in Bokaro, Jharkhand.
The developer that is ultimately chosen will have the responsibility of planning, setting up, testing, and initiating a 3 MW solar project at the overburden (OB) dump site of the old coal mine in Jarangdih. Furthermore, the developer will be in charge of a 1.5 MW solar initiative behind the Russian colony site, a 1.25 MW solar endeavour at the old regional store on the Jarangdih site, and a 0.5 MW project at the CPP (coal preparation plant) colony site in Bokaro.
All bids must be submitted by August 31, 2023, and the subsequent bid-opening will take place on the following day.
The estimated worth of the entire project is Rs 450.87 million.
To participate, bidders are required to provide a deposit of Rs 5 million as earnest money. Furthermore, the bidders who secure the project will need to present a performance security equating to 5% of the contract value, within 21 days of receiving the award letter.
The tasks encompassed within the project involve the design, engineering, supply, construction, on-site storage, civil operations, as well as the acquisition of necessary permits, licenses, and insurance.
The timeline for completing the projects is set at 240 days from the receipt of the award letter. The chosen bidder must ensure that the solar modules incorporated into the project possess a minimum DC overloading capacity of 32.5%. Moreover, the bidder is obliged to arrange for a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to facilitate remote monitoring of the project.
String inverters of appropriate capacity are mandated to be employed by the bidder for each individual project. In addition to the above requirements, the selected bidder is obligated to construct a control or substation building at each of the four designated locations, ensuring that it meets the specified minimum plinth area stated in the tender document.
Lastly, it is stipulated that the modules used for the project must be included in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
