EESL CEO supports energy efficiency projects in Andhra Pradesh

Vishal Kapoor, the CEO of Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), expressed his full support for the implementation of Energy Efficiency (EE) projects in the State, aimed at mitigating the impact of climate change, particularly in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

During a meeting with senior officials from the State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, and Departments of Industries and EESL, Kapoor highlighted the remarkable success of the Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme. This success serves as a testament to EESL's dedication to EE programs, which have distributed over 36.86 crore LED bulbs nationwide, resulting in an annual energy saving of 47,880 million kWh. This has led to a significant reduction of 3.87 crore tons in CO2 emissions.

Kapoor commended the State government for effectively implementing the EE programs and expressed his gratitude to Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy and Special Chief Secretaries K Vijayanand (Energy), S S Rawat (Finance), and B Rajasekhar for their support in various EESL initiatives.
