The expansion of infrastructure is a key facilitator for reaching a $20 trillion GDP by 2040. As we approach what Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Amrit Kaal, a number of structural reforms announced have laid the groundwork for higher economic growth supported by infrastructure development. By introducing the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) in October 2021, a step in the right direction was taken last year. These transmission projects, whose construction would typically take three to four years, must be finished in just 18 months in order to meet project deadlines. For such power transmission projects, where route planning and locating the necessary permits and approvals by the transmission project developers can take up more than two thirds of the time, the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) portal can be a game-changer.
