Govt invites proposals for CoE under National Green Hydrogen Mission

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has called for proposals to establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The CoEs will focus on advancing technologies for the production, storage, and utilization of green hydrogen, contributing to India鈥檚 transition to a low-carbon economy.

The initiative, launched in January 2023, is part of a broader effort to promote innovation in the green hydrogen sector and enhance the country鈥檚 energy independence. The government has allocated ?19,744 crore for the mission, which aims to set up 5 metric million tonnes of green hydrogen capacity by 2030.

The CoEs will foster research and development in green hydrogen technologies and support the long-term sustainability goals of India鈥檚 energy sector. Proposals for setting up these centres are invited as part of the ongoing efforts to achieve India鈥檚 ambitious climate and energy targets.
