Inox Wind bagged a 150 MW wind power plant order from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. The project will support NTPC attaining its goal of having more than 60 GW renewable energy capacity, comprising approximately 50% of the firm's overall power production capacity by 2032. It will be performed on a turnkey basis at the Dayapar site in Kutch district, Gujarat, and will be launched by April 2023. Inox Wind, in a regulatory filing, said that it obtained an order for a 150 MW wind power plant from NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC. Kailash Tarachandani, Inox Wind CEO, told the media that they are very excited to get this prestigious project from NTPC. Inox Wind had previously completed a 50 MW turnkey wind plant for NTPC in Gujarat a few years back, which speaks volumes regarding Inox Wind's credentials and capabilities. As per Tarachandani, it additionally happens to be the biggest order granted by a public sector undertaking in recent times. As part of the order, Inox Wind will provide and set up DF 113/92 - 2.0 MW capacity Wind Turbine Generators with 113 m rotor diameter and 92 m hub height . The common infrastructure amenities like the 220 KV pooling substation at Dayapar and extra high voltage transmission line has already been launched and hence the project will be completed on a plug-and-play basis with a shorter gestation term. Inox Wind will additionally render overall operation and maintenance for the lifetime of the plant. India has declared a renewable energy goal of 175 GW by 2022 and 450 GW by 2030.
