Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JDVVNL) has recently announced the launch of eight tenders aimed at the installation and commissioning of 562 grid-connected solar power projects. These projects, collectively boasting an impressive total capacity of 1.515 gigawatts (GW), are set to be deployed across various subdivisions within the Jodhpur District Circle. The initiative falls under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program, focusing on feeder-level solarization. To facilitate the development of these solar projects, JDVVNL is embracing the renewable energy service company model. Selected developers will bear the responsibility of overseeing the operation and maintenance of these projects for a substantial period of 25 years. In addition to the installation of solar power infrastructure, project developers will be tasked with establishing the necessary 33 kilovolt (kV) or 11 kV lines, tailored to the specific requirements of each project. This critical aspect involves linking the solar power projects to the corresponding 33/11 kV substations. Developers will also be responsible for setting up essential components at these substations, including bays, breakers, and metering systems. This ambitious endeavour signifies Jodhpur's commitment to advancing its renewable energy infrastructure and aligning with the broader objectives of India's clean energy initiatives. The PM-KUSUM program, specifically focusing on feeder-level solarization, stands as a significant stride towards harnessing solar power and reducing the carbon footprint in the region.
