KPI Green Energy, SAEL and NLC India Win GUVNL Solar Auction

Guiarat Urja Vikas Nigam's (GUVNL) auction for the development of 800 MW of grid-connected solar power projects (Phase XX at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat) was won by KPI Green Energy, SAEL Industries, and NLC India.

The developers have access to an additional 800 MW greenshoe option. KPI Energy won 100 MW by offering a quote of $2.70 (or $0.033)/kWh. 400 MW and 300 MW, respectively, were won by SAEL Industries and NLC India at quotes of 2.71 (around $0.033)/kWh.

This year's tender was floated in May.

With the chosen bidders, GUVNL will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will last 25 years starting on the project's anticipated commercial operation date.

The undertaking need to be planned to offer energy to GETCO (Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation)'s surroundings. The winning bidder oversees establishing grid connectivity with GETCO or the primary transmission utility.
