New sub-stations are to be established by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company to improve power supply within the district. Additionally, new transformers are to be installed across various rural areas of the district. The work is to be executed as a part of the new agriculture pump policy. The power network is to be strengthened using the pending power payments which are due. When pending agricultural power dues of the farmers are paid, 66% of the total amount will be utilized for the agriculture contingency fund, an MSEDCL official stated. Furthermore, the official said that a vital role is played by the sub-stations in the transmission of power to the outgoing feeders. To which the transformers are connected. Power is supplied by the transformers to the consumers. Therefore along with establishing new ones, capacity building is equally important. Approximately 470 power infrastructure works that cost around rupees 13 crore have been completed in the past few weeks from the agriculture contingency fund. The amount in this fund is said to increase when farmers pay their dues. The network of power distribution will be further improved.
