New transformers in Delhi launched for 24x7 electricity

Power Minister Atishi stated that the Delhi government has consistently been committed to enhancing the city's power infrastructure after inaugurating two new transformers in Sriniwaspuri and Kalkaji. According to the government, the two 630 KVA transformers have been installed to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply for the residents of these areas.

The installation of the transformers is a response to the rising demand for electricity, which had placed significant pressure on the older transformers and led to frequent power cuts, as noted in the government?s statement. Following the inauguration, Atishi remarked that electricity is a basic necessity for the people, and since coming into power in 2015, the government has been focused on improving Delhi's power infrastructure. She highlighted that Delhi now provides 24x7 electricity without power cuts, offers the cheapest electricity rates in the country, and even provides free electricity to some households.

Atishi explained that the newly installed transformers in Sriniwaspuri Private Colony are part of the government?s broader efforts to strengthen the power infrastructure, ensuring consistent power supply despite the increased demand. She expressed satisfaction that thousands of homes in Sriniwaspuri Private Colony and Gandhi Colony are now receiving continuous power. The minister reiterated the Kejriwal government's commitment to delivering high-quality basic facilities to Delhi's residents.

She further emphasised that no matter the challenges, the work for the people of Delhi would continue as long as Arvind Kejriwal remains the chief minister.
