NTPC Invites Bids for Cable Supply for Solar Projects in Gujarat

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has invited bids for the supply of 33 kV grade power cables for a 1,255 MW solar block in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The tender includes the manufacturing, testing, packing, and supply (including freight and insurance) of the cables. The last day to submit the bids is June 29, 2023.
Scope of work: The scope of work for the tender includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of 33 kV grade power cables for a 1,255 MW solar block in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The cables should be 19/33 kV (E) grade, with a stranded compact circular aluminum conductor and 90% armor coverage. The total length of the cables needed for the project is 835 kilometers.
Bidding process: The bidding process for the tender will be conducted online. Interested bidders can download the bidding documents from the NTPC website. Bidders will have to submit �10 million (~$121,110) as a bid security deposit for one block of 315 MW and �200 million (~$2.58 million) for two or more blocks of 315 MW each.
Benefits: The development of the 1.25 GW solar project in Gujarat will help to reduce the country's reliance on fossil fuels and improve air quality. The project will also create jobs and boost the local economy.
The tender is open to all qualified bidders, including domestic and international companies.
The winning bidder will be required to supply the cables within 12 months of the award of the contract.
