GE Renewable Energy has received multiple renewable energy orders from state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). As part of the orders, the firm will render 13 units of 765 kV transformers and 32 units of 765 kV reactors for the new substations to be installed by PGCIL in Rajasthan. The substations will be removing 8.1 gigawatt (GW) of green energy from the state's solar energy zones. It involves the evacuation of power from four solar power zones within Rajasthan for onward dispersal of energy to numerous beneficiaries - 1.05 GW from Bhadla, 2.2 GW from Fatehgarh, 1.05 GW from Bhadla, and 2.95 GW from Bikaner. As per a statement given by the company, GE Grid Solutions' power transformer manufacturing facility in Vadodara will supply the project's transformers and reactors. Pitamber Shivnani, President and CEO, GE Grid Solutions, South Asia, said that with a determined focus on decarbonisation and round-the-clock power, the company believes that the Indian energy landscape will continue to experience a significant positive transformation.
