PM Narendra Modi visited the district of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of hydropower projects of Rs 11,000 crore in Himachal Pradesh. He will also preside over the Himachal Pradesh Global Investors' meet's second ceremony. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Renukaji dam, which has been stalled for around three decades. The hydropower project of 40 MW will be constructed at around Rs 7,000 crore. It will provide 500 million cubic metre water supply each year. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Luhri hydropower project stage-1. The 210 MW project will be constructed at over Rs 1,800 crore. It will generate 750 million units of electricity each year. Its modern and dependable grid support system will benefit the adjoining states and regions. According to the Prime Ministers' Office (PMO), PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Dhaulasidh hydropower project, the first hydropower project of the Hamirpur district. The 66 MW hydropower project will be constructed at over Rs 680 crore and generate over 300 million units of electricity each year. Moreover, he will also inaugurate the Sawra-Kuddu hydropower project. Another project worth around Rs 2,080 crore of 111 MW will be constructed to generate over 380 million units of electricity every year. It will help the state to earn revenue of over Rs 120 crore every year. It is expected that the Himachal Pradesh Global Investors meet will boost investment in the region through projects worth Rs 28,000 crore.
