SECI invites bids for 2 GW of wind-solar hybrid power projects in India

SECI (Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd.) has invited bids for 2 GW of wind-solar hybrid power projects in India on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The projects, which can be placed anywhere in India, must connect to the interstate transmission system.

The successful bidders will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with SECI. SECI has planned to sell the power generated by these projects to various Indian purchasing bodies.

To supply wind-solar hybrid power to SECI, the selected hybrid power developers will establish ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, including the dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery points.

A single developer can compete for a total contracted capacity ranging from 50 MW to 1 GW. A bidder will be assigned 1 GW of total capacity.

Bidders with untied capacity who have already commissioned wind-solar hybrid power plants or are in the process of constructing such plants may also participate in this RfS. In such cases, they will be granted a longer period of PPA, proportionate to the time elapsed between the actual date of power supply commencement and the scheduled date of supply commencement, as specified in the tender document.
