SECI to procure 800 MW renewable power for Haryana

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has revealed its intention for the procurement of RTC power (Round-the-Clock) from renewable energy projects for an aggregate capacity of 800 MW, meant primarily for Haryana discoms. The projects will be set up on “Build Own Operate (B-O-O) basis. Towards this, SECI shall enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidder(s) selected based on the RfS for the purchase of power for a period of 25 years based on the terms, conditions, and provisions of the RfS.

The RfS will be under SECI’s RTC tranche IV. Thus, one can soon expect a tender from SECI for the selection of project developers for the said capacity soon.

SECI’s NIT indicates that solar PV capacity of up to 1200 MWp is to be set up in Haryana (STU-connected) while the wind capacity is to be set up on pan-India basis (ISTS-connected) Further, the ESS (Energy Storage System) component shall be a mandatory component of the project, to be set up on co-location/ standalone basis.

The tender will be issued under the standard bidding guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding process for procurement of firm and dispatchable power from grid connected renewable energy power projects with Energy Storage Systems issued by the Government.
