Sembcorp awards Suzlon Group a 50 Megawatt wind project

Suzlon Group has won a contract to build a 50.4 MW wind farm for Sembcorp's renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd. Suzlon Group stated in a statement that as part of the order, it will install 24 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each.

The project is located in Karnataka and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and manage the project from start to finish, including erection and commissioning. It will also provide extensive post-commissioning operation and maintenance services.

According to the release, this order is part of the offer Sembcorp won from Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL). "We are proud that our partnership with Sembcorp will assist Indian Railways to become a net-zero carbon emitter by the end of this decade thereby contributing to a sustainable India.

Sembcorp India is a significant renewables provider, having assets in 13 states and a presence in 18 states.

The company's renewable energy business, Sembcorp Green Infra, has a portfolio of more than 3 GW of wind and solar energy in India.
