Skoda Auto boosts carbon-neutral production with new solar systems

Skoda Auto announced its partnership with ?EZ ESCO and SKO-ENERGO to install 5,400 photovoltaic modules on its production and logistics buildings in Mlad? Boleslav, marking a significant move towards achieving carbon neutrality at its Czech plants by 2030. The company revealed that the new solar systems, which cover an area of over 10,000 square meters, are projected to generate more than 2 GWh of emission-free electricity annually. According to the company, this electricity output would be sufficient to charge approximately 25,000 Enyaq 85 cars.

Andreas Dick, the Board Member of Skoda Auto responsible for Production and Logistics, emphasised the importance of "Green Production" in their sustainability initiatives. He highlighted the company's ambition to power their production using carbon-neutral energy sources by 2030.

Additionally, CEZ Chairman of the Board, Daniel Bene?, expressed their shared commitment to decarbonisation and renewable energy production, aligning their efforts with Skoda Auto's initiative. He echoed Skoda Auto's dedication to utilising sustainable energy sources for their operations.
