THDC Completes 72-hour Trial Run for Unit 1 of 1320 MW KSTP Project

THDC India, a Mini-Ratna Public Sector Enterprise, has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance India’s power generation capabilities. The 72-hour trial run, along with all statutory tests for Unit 1 of the 2x660 MW (1320 MW) Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (KSTPP), was successfully completed on 23rd January 2025. This accomplishment sets the stage for the Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) of Unit 1, marking an important step forward in THDCIL’s commitment to advancing India’s power sector.

The trial run reflects THDCIL’s dedication to strengthening the nation’s energy security and generation capacity. The KSTPP team’s efforts have been instrumental in this achievement, which also demonstrates THDCIL’s commitment to expanding its footprint in India’s power sector. The Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant, equipped with advanced technologies such as Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems and in compliance with MoEF&CC guidelines, sets a benchmark for environmentally sustainable thermal power generation.

The 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant is expected to address regional energy needs and contribute to India’s vision of affordable and uninterrupted power supply.
