The PM virtually laid the groundwork for the Nokh solar project

On July 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, via video conferencing, laid the groundwork for a 735 MW solar PV project in Nokh, Jaisalmer, as part of the culmination of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal bhavishya-Power @2047.
It is said to be India's largest domestic content requirement-based solar project, deploying 1000 MW of high-wattage bifacial PV modules with a tracker system in a single location.
The production will start in September 2023.
NTPC manager Deepak Patankar, NTPC manager Nokh Sarpanch Suman Changani, NTPC (North) regional officiating director Devsish, and other NTPC officials, political figures, and local villagers were present at the program.
The prime minister also unveiled a national solar rooftop portal that will allow for online monitoring of the process of installing rooftop solar plants, from the submission of applications to the release of subsidies into the bank accounts of residential consumers following installation and inspection of the plant.
In his address to the gathering, Prime Minister Modi stated that the energy and power sectors will play a significant role in accelerating India's progress over the next 25 years.
He stated that the projects launched today are significant steps in the country's director of green and energy security.
The Prime Minister said that the country has added approximately 1,70 MW of electricity generation capacity in the last eight years.
