Reinventing the H-Beam

Nav Nirman is a leading manufacturer of H-Beams, which are used to overcome the cumbersome and costly procurement of timber.

Pioneered in 2003, Nav Nirman Beam Technics was established with a vision of providing the best engineering wood and project wood consultancy to the fast booming domestic construction industry. Today, the company is the leading manufacturer of H-Beams (H-16 & H-20), made at par with international standards.

H-Beam is a unique introduction to overcome the cumbersome and costly procurement of timber. It has been designed to withstand multiple loads during construction activity.

The members are made of seasoned ply by making the web and flange sections of seasoned pine wood imported from Europe so as to make timber H-Beam stronger and denser. Both the flange and web are hot processed by the wedge technology, making them a composite versatile section. The company鈥檚 quality policy is to achieve excellence in the quality of design, and products are manufactured to attain total customer satisfaction.

To this end, the company has been regularly working to cover problems and issues relating to the safety and security of the formwork H-Beam. To counter this problem, Nav Nirman has planned to use end protection in the edges of the beam 鈥 the protection being with GI sheet 鈥 so that it protects the beam end from any split off thus increasing the lifespan of the H-Beam.
Nav Nirman has a state-of-the-art infrastructure facility equipped with modern technologies so as to provide quality products to its clients. Its in-house R&D unit continuously integrates advanced technological changes and modifications, and the manufacturing unit ensures that the products are made to match international standards.

The company also has its own quality control team that looks after the quality aspect by inspecting the material at every stage of production and ensures that superior quality products reache the consumers. The H-Beam goes to the testing labs every two months to ensure reliability.

Salient features

鈥 Reduction in consumption of timber
鈥 Minimising on site work
鈥 No. of reuses more than eight times that of conventional timber
鈥 Dimensionally stable and uniform in size
鈥 Consistent in strength
鈥 Cost ratio per use, H-16 beam: conventional timber = 1:3.5
鈥 Economical and long lasting

Advantages
鈥 H shaped section of concrete support makes it a structurally strong and economical section
鈥 It adds life
鈥 Very high standard of timber strength
鈥 Quality controlled, dimensional and form stability
鈥 High load bearing capacity at low weight
鈥 Easy to handle, light in weight, ready to use, no making (alterations)
鈥 When used for form work making, lesser support is required
鈥 Repetition in operational use 10 to 13 times as compared to normal conventional timber
鈥 Easy to transport, handle and stock
鈥 Gives a perfect form finish, free from bulging and distortion.

Economics

鈥 Imparts life to the plywood allowing it to be used at least nine to 13 times by reversing the plywood after eight uses
鈥 Reduces the cost of formwork making, as it does not require planning, sawing and cutting
鈥 No skilled supervision required to monitor the making of formwork against the conventional timber formwork
鈥 Replaces timber procurement to 60 per cent when viewed on the overall procurement for project execution.

Uses

H-Beam is used for column box, formwork making, circular column and wall shuttering and for beam span base support.

Applications

鈥 Residential construction
鈥 Industrial construction
鈥 Office and building construction
鈥 Water resources engineering
鈥 Transport infrastructure (road and bridge)
鈥 Stadium and sports building construction and to meet the growing needs of the construction industry.
