Germany to host 33rd edition of Bauma 2022 trade show

In October, Munich, Germany, will play host to the 33rd edition of Bauma 2022, the world's largest construction equipment trade show.

From 24-28 October, over 3,500 exhibitors will demonstrate their latest products and innovations in construction, building materials and mining vehicles and equipment sectors.

According to Messe Munchen, Bauma had about 630,000 visitors from more than 200 countries in 2019.

CEO and Chairman of Messe Munchen, Klaus Dittrich, said that Bauma can create face-to-face discussions and a special atmosphere. It will attract a large number of international companies and visitors.

The company to bow out is CNH Industrial, manufacturer of both Case and New Holland construction equipment.

Highlighting the announcements made by Volvo Construction Equipment and JLG in 2021, CNH witnesses changes in customer behaviour relating to the pandemic as the reason for the decision.

All the companies intend to focus more on smaller local events designed to build stronger relationships with the customers. Additionally, the trio aims at digital campaigns and content for marketing. The three companies also indicated an openness to participating in other trade shows in the future.

Earlier, Caterpillar said it was bowing out of Bauma, leaving the responsibility to Zeppelin. Before this, Cat and Zeppelin shared Cat's stand at the trade show.

The Bauma 2022 trade show will focus on five key topics, including the net-zero emissions target, digital construction sites, construction techniques and materials, autonomous machines and sustainable, efficient and reliable mining.
