Magni Telescopic Handlers are planning to debut a mining-specific telehandler at MineExpo 2021. The TH U 5.8, the new low-profile telehandler, is a fixed telescopic handler with features mainly designed for underground mining environments.
TH U 5.8 can lift to a height of 26 feet safely and exhibits a lifting capacity of up to 11,000 pounds in a compact 17- by 8-foot frame. The compact frame is designed to work in tight situations.
The hydrostatic transmission, powered by a Deutz engine, facilitates precise movements and manoeuvrability. The TH U 5.8 has a braking system built for use on the steep slopes found in many mines for safety.
A catalytic converter of 50 ppm filters exhaust from the machine, making the air safer for crews around the telehandler when working in enclosed spaces.
The TH U 5.8 standard safety features include FOPS and ROPS protection, an extra safety cage protecting the cab from falling objects and a pressurised Magni cab with air filtration. In addition, each Magni TH U 5.8 comes equipped with a load-limiting system that prevents the operators from lifting unsafe loads. Further, the emergency stop buttons outside and inside the cab provide added safety.
The TH U 5.8 is compatible with various attachments, including jibs, forks, work platforms and winches. The RFID system, which is present in TH U 5.8, facilitates the automatic recognition of attachments and the creation of digital load charts specific to each attachment.
