FPT Powers CASE Equipment with F28 CEV Stage V Engine

FPT Industrial, the Iveco Group brand dedicated to the design, production, and sale of powertrains and solutions for on- and off-road vehicles, as well as marine and power generation applications, is once again a key player for driving change. The CASE Construction Equipment booth at the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo (19-22 January, India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, India) saw the unveiling of the new version of the F28 engine, designed to comply with the Bharat Stage CEV V emission standards for the Indian market which have recently been introduced. As one of the global leaders in the industry, FPT Industrial has proven itself to be the ideal partner for OEMs, capable of providing reliable engines that can respond exceptionally well to increasingly stringent emissions challenges with solutions tailored to the customer's needs.

Marco Rangel, Head of CNH Global Business at FPT Industrial, stated: “We are proud to be writing a new chapter in the success story that is the F28, alongside CASE Construction Equipment. Since its market debut, the F28 has garnered strong feedback worldwide, thanks to its compact design and outstanding performance. Today, we celebrate new applications for this engine in India that pave the way for an even brighter future.

Speaking on the launch, Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director, CASE Construction Equipment India and SAARC region, said: “The F28 CEV Stage V engine enhances the performance and efficiency of our machines while ensuring compliance with the latest emission standards. With this focus on progress and excellence, we are pleased to showcase our new range of equipment powered by this cutting-edge engine at Bharat Construction Equipment Expo.

Of the innovations to meet CEV Stage V requirements, the Brand’s highly compact after-treatment solution is key, featuring an efficient Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), delivering optimal performance while complying with the most stringent emission standards. The F28, designed to withstand the toughest working conditions, embodies durability and intelligence. This versatile engine provides a single solution that harmoniously balances space optimisation and exceptional performance, addressing the evolving needs of compact construction and industrial equipment. With a dynamic 2.8 l, four-cylinder configuration, the F28 generates robust peaking torque at 375 Nm at 1,400 rpm, ensuring the power required is available right when needed. Thanks to advanced engineering features such as EGR channels integrated into the cylinder head, a reduced liner bridge design, and the most compact after-treatment system in its class the F28 delivers impressive 3.4 l performance within a compact 2.8 l package, facilitating easier vehicle installation. In keeping with FPT Industrial’s commitment to sustainability, the engine boasts optimized combustion for greater efficiency.

Available for both construction and agriculture applications, its versatile design allows the F28 to excel in various tasks, making it ideal for equipment in the rental industry, such as backhoe loaders, vibratory compactors, aerial lifts, telehandlers, pumps, welders, chippers, and trenchers. The first applications of the F28 on CASE Construction Equipment vehicles, showcased at the booth, include three backhoe loaders models 770NX, 770NX Magnum, and 851NX Plus CP and the 952NX vibratory compactor.
