Abbott Healthcare, a medical device company, rented a 5,000-sq-feet apartment in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) at the luxury residential project Sunteck Signature Island in Mumbai. The monthly rent of the apartment is nearly Rs 10 lakh.
The overall tenure of the rent is 36 months, taking the rental payment to more than Rs 3.60 crore throughout the period.
The corporate office is near the complex, so it is expected a Chief experience officer (CXO) of a firm would acquire the lease.
The apartment is on the third floor, and the resident would also get private access to the five-car parking space. On 27 July, the registration of the deal took place.
In September 2015, the medical device company purchased a 4.35 lakh sq ft office area at Godrej Properties for around Rs 1,480 crore. The deal was registered as the largest end-user office area transaction by value.
The firm revealed that the office area would house over 1,500 employees.
In 2016, in the Andheri suburb of Mumbai, Abbott bought a whole under-construction building with more than 1.60 lakh sq ft built-up area to construct a development and innovation centre.
Many prominent personalities of the corporate sector, banking, and fraternity purchased apartments in the same project constructed by Sunteck Realty.
Other additional buyers like Gautam Adani, Vikram Pandit, Mihir Doshi, Gunit Chaddha also bought an apartment in the nearby project Signia Isle constructed by the same developer.
