AMC appoints REPL for Tirtha Kshetra development

The Akkalkot Municipal Council (AMC) has appointed Rudrabhishek Enterprises (REPL) to provide consultancy services for development of Akkalkot Tirtha Kshetra. This will include detailed project reports, bidding documents and technical support in bidding process and construction phase for development at Akkalkot, Maharashtra.

Akkalkot is a holy place of Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj. Within the scope of Shri Swami Samarth Mandir mission, the designated city area spans 1023 acres, with 30% dedicated to Akkalkot temple and its immediate surroundings. AMC is creating a comprehensive infrastructure revamp for this region as Akkalkot Teerth Kshetra Development. The goal of development is to seek the growth of ancillary services like hospitality, guided tours, and handicrafts in communities surrounding religious sites. It also enables diversification of the economy in a bid to ensure more robust and sustainable economic landscape at Akkalkot.

Pradeep Misra, CMD, REPL, said, "We are honoured to have been entrusted with such a solemn responsibility of contributing to development of proposed Akkalkot Tirtha Kshetra. Pilgrimage tourism in country is gaining a lot of traction, especially among millennial and Gen Z due to efforts by central and state governments. The substantial impact of pilgrimage tourism on a destination's economic growth cannot be understated. In contrast to traditional tourists, pilgrims tend to spend more on accommodation, transportation, and local goods, which catalyzes local economies, facilitating infrastructure development and generating new employment opportunities.?

Ameet Hede (VP-REPL) said, ?The infrastructure revamp and new developments proposed will bring about transformation around the Akkalkot Temple area and its immediate surroundings. We will be providing Surveys, Feasibility Report, DPR, and technical support in bidding process and construction phase. The plan will be covering road development and street infrastructure, road repairs, terminal infrastructure development for vehicles and parking spaces. It also covers, establishment of parks and gardens, development of a lake shore, creation of business centres/ guest houses for pilgrims. These initiatives are designed to not only offer business opportunities for local residents but also enhance the prospects of existing businesses in the area.?

REPL has been providing its consultancy services in many of Government?s flagship projects such as smart city, PMAY, Skill India, and AMRUT at multiple locations under various capacities. In the Maharashtra, the company is already working on PMAY, Pune and PMC for over two thousand dwelling units in Mumbai under Ashray Yojana for MCGM.
