Blue Planet Wins Rs 624 Mn Andhra Waste-Mining Contracts

Blue Planet Environmental Solutions, through its subsidiary Zigma Global Environ Solutions, has secured cluster-based contracts worth about Rs 624 million under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 to bio-mine and reclaim legacy dumpsites across Andhra Pradesh. The six-month engineering, procurement and construction assignments, awarded after a competitive tender, cover Chittoor, Tirupati, Anantapur and Gudur clusters, along with major sites managed by the Nellore and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations.

Working with the Swachh Andhra Corporation and the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, the company will conduct site analysis, pre-stabilisation, processing, segregation and responsible disposal of old mixed waste in line with Central Pollution Control Board guidelines and the 2016 Solid Waste Management Rules. Combustible fractions will be converted into refuse-derived fuel for cement kilns, while inert material will replace virgin soil in road construction and land-levelling projects.

Chief executive Prashant Singh said the initiative will “restore land, uplift communities and build the foundation for a circular economy, with completion scheduled for 2 October 2025 to coincide with the eleventh anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission. The work is expected to improve air and groundwater quality, cut carbon emissions and create hundreds of jobs for semi-skilled and unskilled workers.

Blue Planet has processed more than 1.66 million tonnes of legacy waste in Andhra Pradesh since 2017, including a landmark project that reclaimed forty-three acres in Vijayawada, making it the state’s largest landfill-mining operator.
