Nibe Gets DRDO Tech Licence for Modular Bridging Systems

Nibe Limited has signed a licensing agreement with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its Research & Development Establishment (Engineers) in Pune, for the transfer of technology to manufacture the advanced “Modular Bridging System. This development marks a key step in strengthening indigenous defence capabilities under the Government of India’s "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives.

The Modular Bridging System is a sophisticated, mechanically launched mobile bridge engineered by DRDO. Designed to span distances from 14 to 46 metres, it allows rapid deployment to support the movement of tracked and wheeled military vehicles. The system is tailored to meet the operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces and various government agencies operating in dynamic field conditions.

Under the licensing terms, Nibe Limited will manufacture the system domestically and hold exclusive rights to supply it to Indian defence forces and designated government agencies within the specified licensing regions for a period of 10 years.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality, precision, and compliance in the manufacture of the bridging system, aimed at supporting critical national security infrastructure. This agreement further enhances India’s self-reliance in strategic defence manufacturing.
