Optiemus Launches 4 Advanced Drones, Enhances India’s Defence Tech

Optiemus Unmanned System, a wholly owned subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, today unveiled four state-of-the-art drones aimed at bolstering India's defence capabilities and contributing to the “Make in India� initiative. The new drones � Marak VT100, Vajra QC55, Canister Launched Loitering Munition, and First Person View (FPV) drones with optical fibre cable-based navigation � are engineered for high-altitude operations, long endurance, and deployment in GNSS-denied and electronic warfare (EW) environments. These drones are being presented at the Milipol India Exhibition 2025 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi.
Marak VT100
The Marak VT100 is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone, specifically designed for high-altitude missions. It is equipped with a 30x electro-optical and infrared (EOIR) camera for both day and night surveillance. With a range of 20 km and a 3-hour endurance, this drone offers unparalleled operational flexibility in confined spaces. An extended range of over 50 km can be added as an optional feature.
Vajra QC55
The Vajra QC55 is a multirotor drone ideal for aerial surveillance in both day and night conditions. Featuring an EOIR camera, it provides high-resolution imagery and has a flight range of 10 km with an endurance of up to 80 minutes. Its vertical lift capability makes it easy to launch and land in tight spaces, while real-time imaging and AI analytics enhance decision-making in critical scenarios.
Canister Launched Loitering Munition
This high-performance attack drone is designed for precision strikes, offering a 30-minute endurance and a 2.5 kg payload capacity. With a command-and-control range of 30 km, it can achieve loitering speeds of 130 km/h and sprint speeds up to 150 km/h. Its advanced electro-optical and infra-red gimballed payload, AI-driven tracking, and proprietary flight control support beyond-line-of-sight targeting, making it versatile for launch from unmanned vessels, vehicles, or fixed positions.
FPV (First Person View) Drones
These drones are equipped with optical fibre cable (OFC) navigation, which is resistant to interference from electronic warfare systems. The FPV drones have a range of up to 20 km in one direction and are suited for both surveillance and kamikaze operations. The two models offer varying payloads and endurance, with one capable of carrying a 1 kg payload for 15+ minutes and the other carrying 350 grams for over 30 minutes. The OFC navigation system is available on all OUS drones.
In alignment with the "Make in India" vision, OUS has partnered with Taiwan-based Avix Technology to co-develop and manufacture high-performance camera systems, gimbals, and related drone components in India. This collaboration aims to enhance the self-reliance of the Indian defence sector, with Avix’s expertise in UAV electronics and design significantly contributing to local technological advancements.
