PM Modi to launch projects worth 156.70 bn on Gujarat visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to his home state of Gujarat this week, where he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 156.70 billion.

During the two-day visit, Modi will cover Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Kevadia and Vyara, a statement from Prime Minister鈥檚 Office (PMO) said. To start with, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the DefExpo 22 at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar. The Expo, being held under the theme 鈥楶ath to Pride鈥�, will showcase India鈥檚 defence manufacturing.

The expo has an India Pavilion and 10 state pavilions. At the India Pavilion, Modi will unveil HTT-40, the indigenous trainer aircraft designed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The aircraft has state of art contemporary systems and has been designed with pilot-friendly features. The Prime Minister will also launch Mission DefSpace, to develop innovative solutions for the defence forces in the Space domain through industry and startups. He will also lay the foundation stone of Deesa airfield. The forward Air Force base will add on to the security architecture of the country.

Later, Modi will launch Mission Schools of Excellence at Trimandir, Adalaj. During the event at Trimandir, the Prime Minister will launch projects worth around Rs 42.60 billion.
