PM Reviews National Security Preparedness with Top Officials

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries from various Ministries and Departments to assess India’s preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination in light of recent national security developments.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of seamless cooperation among ministries and agencies to ensure operational continuity and institutional resilience. He called for sustained alertness and robust internal communication to effectively navigate the evolving situation.

Secretaries were instructed to conduct comprehensive reviews of their ministry operations, ensuring faultless functioning of essential systems. Special attention is to be given to emergency response capabilities, internal protocols, and coordination frameworks.

Ministries reported their strategies using a “Whole of Government� approach and confirmed they were strengthening internal processes and identifying key action points in response to potential crises. They assured readiness to manage a broad spectrum of emerging situations.

The meeting covered a wide array of topics, including enhancing civil defence mechanisms, tackling misinformation and fake news, and protecting critical national infrastructure. Ministries were also advised to maintain close coordination with state governments and local institutions.

Present at the meeting were the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and Secretaries from key departments including Defence, ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³ Affairs, External Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Power, Health, and Telecommunications.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to national security, institutional synergy, and the safety of citizens. He urged ministries to remain proactive and aligned as the country navigates a sensitive phase.
